Used by thousands of users worldwide, StudioRIP XF is the latest generation of a prepress solution that is renowned for its outstanding screening quality, versatility and flexibility. Feature rich to complement any print process, it brings the benefits of productivity, speed and quality at a highly competitive price.
The latest rendering-based architecture, running on either PC or MAC hardware, provides the core capability of StudioRIP to convert in real time any content in the workflow to the required format for display, proofing, digital printing or plate and film production.
Coupled with a very intuitive and easy-to-learn interface, StudioRIP integrates time consuming tasks such as trapping, imposition and pre-flighting into one easy-to-use application. This unique combination guarantees the fastest route from input to stunning results whatever final output process – offset, flexo, digital or inkjet plates and films.
Excellent Screening Quality and Flexibility
- Customizable hybrid screening – The operator can specify the minimum and maximum printable dot size.
- Flexo hybrid screening – Smooth AM-FM transition by slightly shifting the screen dot centers in order to achieve a stocastic structure in the AM screen, useful for flexo where the quality of the highlights is critical.
- Smooth, pattern free halftones – Filters out the possible patterns caused by dot gain.
- 4096 shades of grey – Smooth gradients even in low dpi and high lpi conditions.
- Colour precision – A low-pass filtering system smooths dot gain spikes, offering perfectly linear behavior after calibration.
- Consistent rosettes – Perfect rosette consistency even on large format, high resolution and special angles.
- Stochastic screening – Second order FM screen producing extremely smooth tints in the AM area (without the typical FM noise).
- Gravure friendly dot shape – Pincushion dot available.
Powerful Proofing Capabilities
StudioRIP provides the ability to create very accurate color proofs to a variety of modern proofing devices. Different users need different types of proofs, and StudioRIP gives them the proof for their needs with three types of proofing modes available: Contone, Halftone and Raster Proof modes.
Comprehensive Flexo Tools
StudioRIP provides advanced flexo capabilities, at an affordable price, with various tools optimized for the flexo industry.
Custom Angles – Angles can be fully customized via the angle editor, allowing custom angles to be set. Specific Spot colors can be assigned their own angles or spot colors can be dynamically assigned angles which will not clash.
Perfect Trapping
The fully integrated module provides trapping in a fully automated process. Trapping functions include:Narrow traps – the trap is narrowed in the proximity of a third object if there is a risk of touching the third object.Sliding Traps – Avoids sudden breaks on objects that display gradients.
Anamorphic traps – the trap size can be different in horizontal and vertical direction.Feathered Traps – Minimizes the visual impact of a trap by blurring the edge but keeping the edge of the original object sharp.
Intuitive Imposition
StudioRIP offers an easy to use integrated imposition option. This uses rasterized data to avoid integrity issues of imposing in separate PDF applications.
The Imposition process is very quick, allowing gutters to be changed and marks to be added in fraction of a second. Jobs can be imposed with 2 mouse clicks, or even automatically when selected in the job style.
StudioRIP comes with different modes of imposition, including saddle stitch, step and repeats and custom impositions. Smart templates allow quick impositions which are size independent, allowing for example a 4-up Imposition to work on business cards or A5 Sheets.
Simple to Use Architecture
StudioRIP has an easy-to-use architecture which provides easy installation, easy upgrades and ease of use. The server software can be installed on standard PC units with most common Windows operating systems, while the client software can be installed both on Windows or Mac OS X systems.
Easy-to-use Client – The client is fully integrated, all user tools are run from a single Graphical User Interface from which users can submit jobs, edit jobs, proof, preview and output from a single application.
Jobs arrive and are stored with their original PDF in a job folder. This allows jobs to be edited, retrieved and reprocessed from the job history.
Advanced Preview – StudioRIP preview allows for easy and powerful previewing of jobs with four different views:
